8-9:30 a.m. Registration, morning refreshments, presentation by the Mississippi Arts Commission. Welcome. Opening Keynote: Curtis Wilkie.
Workshops: Your choice. No pre-selection necessary
9:30-10:30 a.m. Workshops
10:45-11:45 a.m. Workshops
Noon-1:30 p.m. Awards Lunch with Jill Connor Browne honoring Lemuria Bookstore owner, John Evans with the third Mississippi Writers Guild Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Jill, followed by remarks by John Evans.
1:45-2:45 p.m. Workshops
3-4 p.m. Workshops
4:15-5:30 p.m. Closing keynote by Stanley Nelson, followed by roundtable discussion moderated by Kara Martinez Bachman, followed by critiques.
NOTES
Book sales will continue throughout the conference during breaks. MWG will operate the bookstore. Those attending the conference may bring books to sell. Please download the Consignment Form on the Guild web site. Authors are required to bring books and take unsold books after the conference. (Download book sales form below.)
The Guild will host speakers at a dinner Saturday night at Holiday Inn Trustmark, Pearl, MS beginning at 7. Participants are welcome to join us at their own expense. Please inform the Guild by July 20.
The Guild has applied for at least .5 CEUs for the conference.
